Commissioned by Charles of Bourbon in the 18th century, the Royal Palace of Caserta was designed by Luigi Vanvitelli not to imitate Versailles, but to surpass it. Today it is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the greatest royal residences in Europe.
Your private driver picks you up at your hotel in Naples and takes you to Caserta. There, with your private guide, you climb the monumental staircase and step into the Palatine Chapel, the Court Theatre and the royal apartments, rich with frescoes, gilded stucco and original furnishings, while hearing the stories of the Bourbon kings and queens who lived here.
Outside, the Royal Park stretches for three kilometres of fountains, statues and cascades fed by the Carolino Aqueduct, one of the most spectacular gardens in Italy.
Entrance tickets and the private transfer from and back to your hotel are included, so you simply enjoy the visit at your own pace. A comfortable half-day to discover the grandeur of the Bourbon court.
