Monte Faito is a 1,131 meters high mountain and owes its name to the beech woods that grow luxuriantly on its slopes: there are several beech trees that are over four hundred years old and reach a circumference of over six meters.
During the ascent, you will be able to admire trees such as holm oaks and chestnuts and plants such as the single-bulb orchid, and the Cretan Pterid, species not very frequent in Italy.
In the past centuries, thanks to King Ferdinand I of the Two Sicilies, I exploited the mountain to stock up on timber coming from the Faito woods, for the construction of ships in the shipyard he wanted in Castellammare di Stabia.
A mountain rich in history, rich in traditions, and naturalistic beauties to offer you unique moments here in Campania, in the Gulf of Naples.
